A decision in a Nevada court case could decide if web site editors, bloggers and citizen journalists can use the state's shield law that protects mainstream journalists.?Ç Robert Lewis, a reviewer for a golf website, plans to use Nevada's shield law to assert he is a journalist who just happens to use the Internet as his publishing medium.?Ç The following comes from The Movable Buffet:

Lewis plans to invoke Nevada's journalism shield law in defending himself. He argues that the fact that he runs a website should not keep him from being seen as a real journalist.

The lawsuit involves a dispute over paid reviews of golf courses.?Ç This case is currently being heard by Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti.?Ç I serve as public relations counsel to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
