The Shift Communications manifesto on social media, blogging and other PR 2.0 essentials has caused quite a stir among communicators at the 15th Conference of Court Public Information Officers in Phoenix. It has been photocopied at least 50 times and people keep asking for copies to take back to their courts. Of course, it can be found online.
The Court PIOs are interested in the document because it clearly explains many of the new social media tools in a straight-foward manner. A few folks had never heard of a WIKI and this document has helped them catch up.
In relation to the Shift Document, I presented 30 Boxes to the group as a way to share court calendars with media. I have a lot of media attention in my courts as they report on Notorious or High Profile trials. In fact, Court TV returns to Las Vegas next week for State v. Guzman (05-C-211597-C). The presentation went well with many PIOs asking how to adapt the calendar system for their own media tracking.
