The script’s coming along quite nicely, especially after I stopped editing it every two minutes. Now that I’m just writing and not worrying about the typos or the awkwardness, the script has moved into the second act and we’re heading for another plot point. Hint: we’re about to find out what happens when a very tired car thief parks his stolen vehicle next to a police station.

I’ve been writing for the past three months, off and on, since November 2007. From here, it’s all downhill with the final scene about 30 pages away. I’m looking forward to reading it and then of course, re-writing and polishing it. Fine-tuning the dialogue and cutting out the clutter. If all goes well, I’ll have it done before OJ returns in April.

This is the first 120-page script I’ve attempted. I have written many short scripts, but this was something I felt I needed to tackle and accomplish. It will be nice when I can finish it up and then send it around. What’s weird about this process this time is that I keep thinking up other plots and loglines. I need to finish “The Favor” so I can get started on the next one, and then the next one.

It seems like the words are flowing pretty well and I’m looking forward to getting back to the keyboard every night. That’s quite a change from the past year when I was finding reasons to avoid writing. I’m thinking the day I decided I was no longer just an amateur helped my thought process: I actually feel like I’m a professional writing to eat! Now, let’s see if anyone else will want to see it on the screen.
