I like to think I’m an A-lister.?Ç One of those folks as marked by Tony Hung as one of those folks who are so close to the news that they make it.?Ç In my job I’m pretty close to the news and often make the news.?Ç On my blog, I’m far from it.?Ç Even though I sometimes hit the mark with my posts, not many people pick up on my insights (If you’re reading this, please hold down the laughter to a minimal roar).
Tony makes a good point about blogging A-listers:
When I refer to an ?¢‚Ǩ?ìa-list?¢‚Ǩ¬ù I am referring to a specific set of bloggers who can make, change, and report news and opinion on a different scale by virtue of who they are, who they know, and what they are actually doing.
In the Technosphere, they *are* the news.
And that’s the difference in my job and my blog.?Ç In my job I have a reason to be so close to the news that I often become the news.?Ç In my blog it’s just about me and my opinions and so far no one’s interested enough to consider me making news.?Ç And that’s the struggle: finding something interesting enough to generate some attention.
But isn’t that why most of us blog??Ç We’re all just Wannabe A-Listers looking for someone to add us to a list.
