Went to the PRSA local chapter meeting today and caught up with Pete Codella (past president of the PRSA Las Vegas Chapter), Colleen Curran and Lisa Story (my APR coaches) and Dominic Gentile, who was there to talk about how lawyers and public relation counsel should work together on more projects. I consulted him last year, prior to Lance Malone’s high profile trial in San Diego, on how to approach the media. He’s always fun to catch up with and one of Nevada’s respected criminal defense attorneys (he also has the distinction of being the publisher of a local newspaper and you can find a reference to him in media law regarding judicial gag orders.)

Yesterday, I was a guest at the Clark County Bar Association lunch where the group surprised me with the 2005 Unsung Hero Award. Imagine, being someone’s Unsung Hero! Anyway, they were very appreciative of my efforts to keep the Bar informed during the month long transition from the old courthouse to the new Regional Justice Center. A complete public relations campaign that involved Internet, integrated voice response, media relations and RSS feeds. I plan to put it all together and present it to the local PRSA chapter later this year or maybe use it to finally get past the Readiness Review committee ;-) .

At work lots of media attention coming for State v. Craig Titus/Kelly Ryan, the bodybuilders accused of murdering their personal assistant. This will be Las Vegas’ next high profile trial.
